Bikram (bick-ram)

Bikram Choudhury began learning hatha yoga when he was aged 3 yeras old in his native India. After many years study he developed a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises  performed in a fixed sequence in a heated room. The series is designed to warm the body intensely and help stretch the muscles, ligaments, tendons and soft tissues of the body in a progressive order. This is a seriously HOT form of yoga were students detoxify the body through perspiration. It is said to be for everyone regardless of ability or experience but invariably appeals to those students who seek a serious workout!
